trying to get it to work #1

Hello Mr Bouchez,

I'm trying to make the VSTIzer DSS-1 work. Is there a prerequisite for the process to be connected to an actual DSS-1 to start making multisounds, sounds, import wavs etc? I've only tried offline as I'm waiting for the RTP-MIDI interface.

Also, the version here seems to be 32 bit? Was there ever a 64 bit?

Best Regards and keep up the good work.

Hello,

about the 64-bits version : I suppose you speak of the Windows version. The MacOS version was compatible with 64-bits MacOS at the time I wrote the VSTizer (but as Apple has made a lot of changes in their OS meanwhile , I can't guarantee it still works with latest MacOS release) The Windows 64 bits version does not exist and will probably never exist, as I stopped all activity on the VSTizers.

About the prerequisite process : no, there is nothing special to do, except that you must connect both MIDI IN and MIDI OUT to upload anything in the DSS-1, as there are handshakes in the communication process. If communication is not bidirectional, VSTizer and the DSS-1 will report an error. The rest is classical : you have to ensure that the RTP-MIDI interface is on the same domain/subnet than the computer, then enter the RTP-MIDI interface address and click on Connect button. Once the green LED on the VSTizer main window is activated, communication is established and you can use the VSTizer.

Last thing : I strongly recommend that you start from an existing sound bank, rather than creating your own bank from scratch, as a complete bank creation (multisounds, samples, parameters, etc...) is quite a complex thing on the DSS-1
