Create widget for Scientific Name elements #279

Open bferguso opened 1 year ago

bferguso commented 1 year ago

The complexity of the scientific name parts needs to be captured in a widget. There are 3 parts:

  1. The Scientific Name
  2. The Open Nomenclature Term
  3. The Reference Scientific Name

@LeannePyle, @elisabethdeom - Please have a look at the business rules for this ticket and let me know if I've missed anything.

To clarify, by the "Reference Scientific Name" do you mean the part of the name that follows the "Open Nomenclature Term"?

If so, maybe we re-name this category to be really specific - "Scientific Name that Follows Qualifier", and in the grey box under the "Open Nomenclature Term", can this state "Select relationship qualifier"

@LeannePyle - Yes, that's the one I'm wondering about. What about some thing like "Reference Species Name" since it will always be a species and it's a species that's being referred to? Also wondering if the Open Nomenclature Term should be "Select reference qualifier" because it seems to be more of a reference than a relationship?

The word reference has other meanings in paleo - a Reference species could mean a species that gives age of rock so I want to avoid that confusion. Let's go with the instruction as "Select Open Nomenclature qualifier" since qualifiers have different functions. Then, Header "Related Species Name" - how does that sound?
