Yc feasibility Columbia Mountains #22

Yellow-cedar feasibility in the Columbia Mountains: • Yellow-cedar currently occurs in ESSFwc4/101 (tertiary). • Feasibility is lost from current area of yellow-cedar presence, as ESSFwc4 shifts to other EESF units and ICH units (ICHmw4, ICHvk1). • In some areas feasibility is lost in the nearer term as climate shifts to ICH units and future in the future feasibility comes back (minor portion) as CWH units (CWHms1) are projected. In other areas Yc feasibility does not return = further south, where ICH units projected. image Expansion of yellow-cedar feasibility further north occurs as a result of (1) the climate of ESSFwc4/101 shifting north, and (2) the projection of CWH units’ climate to the Columbia mountains. • E.g. ESSFwcw is projected to shift to ESSFwc4 climate (minor portion of projection). • E.g. a minor portion of ESSFwc2 is projected to shift to ESSFwc4, larger portion predicts ICH units (no Yc) and CWHms1 (includes Yc-tertiary).
To review – how credible is this? Seems that it would be possible given Yc is already in the Columbia Mountains = range of feasible area expands north. Probably OK image
