The Finance Data Catalogue enables users to discover data holdings at the BC Ministry of Finance and offers information and functionality that benefits consumers of data for business purposes. The product is built using Drupal and adheres to the Government of BC's Core Metadata Standard.
Currently we send two types of emails. In both cases, we log the fact that emails were sent, but in neither case is the information logged very helpful. If we ever need to do trouble-shooting, or if users are contacting us saying they didn't receive an email that they should have, it would be great to have a better paper-trail.
Asset that has been bookmarked has been updated
Currently, we log this:
"Sent message to 2 users when updating data_set 113."
It would be more useful to have more information available: Which users were notified, but also to have easier access to the numbered entities mentioned:
"Sent message to users 234 and 257 when updating data_set 113.", or even
"Users <234>, and <257> notified when updating data_set <113>", and have each of the be clickable. Or even,
"\, and \ notified when updating \."
Review Reminder messages
Currently, we log items like this:
"Sent ReviewReminder message to user 138."
But we don't mention what they are being notified about. Would be more useful to see this:
"Reminder sent to user 138: Assets 432 and 563 need review, asset 876 is overdue.", or
"Reminder sent to <user 138>: Assets <432> and <563> need review, asset <876> is overdue.", or
