Problem Description In order to increase the maintainability of BC Mine Information BCMI) website, the business needs to understand what kind of flexibility there may be in moving to a more accessible website system.

Solution Needs

Create an inventory of existing pages in BCMI that identifies the reliance of connection to NRPTI to provide data to the public Timebox

XX days (2 days?) Outcome

End result should have a list of pages that are only static text and pages where there is live link to NRPTI For pages that do have live links to NRPTI, where on the page it is Record your findings on confluence Details describing the outcome of the research

Present findings to MDS team, with emphasis on what kind of effort it could take to have a hybrid approach to maintaining BCMI - i.e. whether it is feasible to isolate some pages that rely heavily on NRPTI connection and moving other pages to a more accessible webpage format. Additional Context

MDS is looking to see how the business can streamline the information regarding mining in the province that is available to the public. At present, there are multiple avenues where the public can attain information about mining, and we're looking at how we can develop BCMI in a way that it can more easily be kept updated with content, or how to more easily direct to other more suitable places for the public to get information.

@Rebecca-MDS Sam is looking for clarity on what the "Hybrid Approach" is and if the hope is to move BCMI away from NRPTI? Thanks

The aim is to keep the NRPTI connection for pages/services where it makes sense (i.e. where files are published through the NRPTI connection), but to move any other webpages that don't rely on NRPTI connections for content to something like wordpress or CMS lite, where someone less technical could update content more frequently. I don't know enough about whether this is feasible, and would love to understand if it is actually a possibility.
