Student FT Application Updates: Enable dollar amount field for Room and Board exceptional expenses - FT Only #2146

This applies to FT only

Description of Task Allow student to input a dollar amount when answering 'yes' to living at home, AND 'yes' to paying rent to parents. If this exception request is approved, assess student based on a calculation to add a shelter value to the MSOL for a dependent student.

Current behavior: If student is A) Living in home paid for by parents/step-parents etc.. and B) paying room and board to the parent/step-parent etc… then:

Additional Context This would add a new path to SDA in the dmn with:

Do these act the same as general exceptional expenses? " If approved, and the student is DEPENDANT the amount will be subtracted from the 'parental expected contribution' during the calculation of resources process."

Since this was initially proposed there has been clarification on the direction:

Given the proposed solution is to simply classify these students as 'living away from home', do we even need to collect a dollar figure of rent, or is that now irrelevant? I.e. Our system has it's own pre-set allowances for students living away from home, and by virtue of 'paying rent' to parents, they are entitled to that full away allowance, correct? If that's the case, we may not need the dollar figure?
