The design recommendations are logically sound. User research showed that no users searched for datasets by organization. Upon learning about the organization centric search, only a few users showed some interest in this method of searching for dataset. Most other users stated that they'd use the organization filter in the main search flow (only need to remember on way to interact with BCDC).
As a data consumer (Public or Government), with or without login, I should be able to view Organizations groups by Ministries with the count of published and pending archive datasets per Organization. You can find the details of steps to reproduce here on the Public (No Login) tab, test case #7.
Highlights:
It could be that there is no data, but should the description and any log be visible on this page. If not on the Organization page, then at the very least on the Learn more about this organization link.
Could this page show the list of child organization(s) with dataset count displayed for the user to further select a 'sub-org' to view the list of datasets?
Current catalogue allows for the ease of displaying the datasets from the parent Organization. Rather than forcing the user to go back to the Organization list and do step (7,6), could the system allow for the list of datasets from this page?
Like the existing catalogue, there are data elements that describe the Organization (ministry) with the ability to upload a logo and supply a URL. If not presented above, then should be presented here.
Editors and Admins should not be visible to any Public user (not logged in ) or logged in users who are not editors of that organization. This information comes from Keyclock and should only be visible to logged in users who are Admin users or Editors of any organization (yet to be confirmed)
Consider renaming the Share link to something more explicit - Share Link or Copy Link
Design consideration - allow the user to Expand All or Collapse All for usability.
