COALFILE shows up a a large spike on the resource status page.

Details:

TheCOALFILE resource was downloaded many (thousands of) times in a period before Nov 2015. The stats ranking is determined by ckanext-ga-report and data downloaded from Google Analytics.

• Stats ranking in ckanext-ga-report is updated nightly when the catalogue is backed-up and restarted in Jenkins.
• This uses one table:ga_url. A similar summing process that used in tracking is used.
• The sum is stored in the columns pageviews and visits for each resource (url eg /dataset/coalfile-database) with a period_name of All – Period_name normally has a date field eg. 2017-06-27

Solutions:

Stop-gap:

• Add another roll-up such as Last-12-months that do the totals and only count data going back 12 months.
• the All query will remain.
• the data is normal after 2015-10-29

long-term solution:

• Use some process to determine outliers moving average, lowpass filter, ?

Also a filter here. I don't mind all time in the 'all month's fields since you can also view/download individual months.

@Mbrownshoes I got distracted writing this up. I changed it so that All is not modified. We can add a Last-12-months query and set that as the default for the presentations.
Figuring out a filter to apply would be next.
