In early September, Google will be releasing an update to Chrome that will enforce stricter cookie policy settings that will interfere with some aspects of Snowplow tracking. We expect other major browsers to follow soon after. (For tech details, see https://www.chromestatus.com/feature/5633521622188032)
To ensure no service interruption, we are providing an update to the Snowplow Javascript Tracker code to replace the one you currently have loaded your site. This is a very small update, so we don’t expect any problems.
If possible, we would like to install it on your test/dev environment first so we can complete our testing. If you cannot do this, and need to put the code directly in production, let us know before you do.
The updated tracking code Standalone Search vE.2.14.0 is attached and should be placed in the
of your test/dev site in place of the previous version.
Once you have placed it in your test/dev environment please let me know, along with the test/dev URL and how to access the site. If we cannot access your test/dev environment, we'll arrange a screen share to do it. When have completed our testing, we will follow up with instructions to move to your production environment.
Please let us know if you have any further questions or concerns.
