Hi,
Can you please send this to the lab team. I’m hoping we can add some more text to the BC Benefit company incorporation application filing that is on the new BC Business Registry application., and make it possible to have a business as an incorporator on the application.
Hi, today I noticed that we don’t define within the BC Benefit company incorporation application what an “incorporator” is. Can we please add some text to help clients understand what it means to identify a person or business as an incorporator
The BCS definitions define the incorporator:
"incorporator" means each person who, before an incorporation application is submitted to the registrar for filing, signs the incorporation agreement respecting the company under section 10;
Kat identified for me that the incorporator can be an individual or a corporation and if its a corporation it does not need to be incorporated here. Quite often Amber talks about the Interpretation Act and how it defines a person…….it could be a person, firm, or corporation.
Here is a screenshot of the “add people and roles” page of our BC Benefit company incorporation application:
corporate online has lots of help text about what an incorporator is and its super helpful :
Here is what displays in the new application if you just select you are adding an Incorporator:
I’m proposing that if we someone selects to add an Incorporator they see a yellow box similar to the one that is seen when they are adding the completing party, and it states the following about an incorporator:
I noticed that they cannot identify a firm or corporation as an Incorporator in the application. We need to make this an option for the incorporator.
To do:
[ ] Design a solution to incorporate this feedback
[ ] When the design is done, make a dev ticket with the solution for the SRE team
