@magszymanski let's talk about how we want to handle the flow - redirect or static page with instructions?
Plan is completed. See https://docs.google.com/document/d/1BEi3KUol6Lh8PvjuziSAwAHWana8esRsMs_D2NQciE8/edit#heading=h.8cumhdvuyhk0
@steveburtch just make sure I understood the requirements correctly, have we decided not to proceed with the redirect approach and want to do a static page instead?
@bolyachevets @magszymanski yes Andrew, that is correct, we are going to use a static page to point to the user with instructions on how to register in the new system.
@steveburtch how long do we need to have the static page for? @pwei1018 suggested that may eventually surrender the openshift namespace for the project
updated banner in test: https://search-web-test.apps.silver.devops.gov.bc.ca/directorsearch/ set up static page in dev: https://search-web-dev.apps.silver.devops.gov.bc.ca/directorsearch @bolyachevets @magszymanski let me know if you'd like anything to be different in prod when the time comes
Thanks @bolyachevets ! This is great. Would you be able to push it to prod tomorrow morning? If today is better for you, that would be fine as well!
As for the static page, also great. That will go in on December 19. Thanks!

Hi @bolyachevets. For the decommissioning of the legacy Director Search, what is the earliest time that you could turn it off on Dec 19 and load the static page in prod? We aren't in any immediate rush, just want to plan out what will happen on that day in case we get client inquiries.
You had asked @steveburtch earlier how long the static page should be up for - what's best practice? One month? Or when is Patrick wanting to surrender it?

I can do it the night before or around 8 am. You can keep the page as long as you need (not sure if you are collecting stats on how many people still bump into the same url), but we just want to retire that openshift namespace, so if we have a date we can put it on the calendar.
Around 8am on Tuesday Dec 19 is perfect.
I will chat with Steve about how long the static page should be up for and will let you know. We are in holiday season now so I would think a minimum of two or three months - that puts us at Feb 19 or March 19.
@bolyachevets Steve recommended to keep the static page up until March 19, which is three months from the ODS retirement date. Thanks!
The goal is to retire the old director search by the end of 2023. Site URL is https://www.bcregistry.ca/directorsearch/ Decommissioning Date: Monday December 18, 2023
Requirements
[x] On Thu Nov 16, update the banner on the old director search site to read: Effective December 19, this Director Search application will no longer be available. Transition now to the new and improved Director Search available in the BC Registry application.
[ ] On Tues Dec 19, 2023, at 8:30 AM, for all three environments,
Give them instructions on how to access the new version: OCM Tix 1036 contains the following content for the static page: "This legacy Director Search application retired on December 19, 2023. Learn how to transition and access the new Director Search in the BC Registry application."
