NameX: Incorporation NR for a BC Corp, saved without a designation #20713

The NR for an entity, NR9484769 was changed from one for a Sole Proprietorship Registration to a new BC Company.

The client added ‘INC.’ designation to all three and approved the first choice

The NR was later consumed, but the "INC" was no longer showing up resulting in a corporation on the Registry without a designation.

Corps team fortunately became aware of this and are in the process of creating a free replacement NR and completing a correction filing.

In the transaction history, it appears the first time the name is changed to add an 'INC." happens when the NR is reset and the decision is undone.

However, there does not seem to be a way to undo a decision and change a name choice's name at the same time. Further, a comment was not added to the NR indicating that the first name choice was changed, even though the system should have added one automatically.

One theory for the INC being removed on consumption is that the NameX API side did not properly update the NRO side when the first name choice was changed, so when NRO sent data back when the NR was consumed, it overwrote the changes on the NameX side.

The issues described in this ticket could not be reproduced, and therefore it is very hard to track down what the bug is. We may need to wait for a second occurrence of this bug and revisit this ticket.

I tried but could not reproduce the steps. The error has been noted and fixed as shown in the ledger entry below
