I also noticed that similar name check for the example (10130879 MANITOBA LTD) resulted in names that do not appear similar to 10130879 MANITOBA LTD, but that's a separate issue if any

Thanks, Steven. That’s exactly it: Registries does not have any control over how MRAS has been designed. I appreciate your understanding.
Where the home team can take responsibility is that SystemScope notified us of this “xml only” condition and we verified that there was not impact to home team infrastructure, but we did not pass on this information to modernization team to check. We certainly should have followed up with you when SystemScope notified us of this issue. Please accept our apologies.

As you said, our federal partners have designed MRAS to work with xml – and xml only. If so, we will need to update the codes on our side to make it work.

Darci and Thayne helped me track this one down. Please see attached. I gather that, while I was away in January/February, the MRAS vendor at the federal level, SystemScope, passed this note to partners for review. The write-up from Phil makes it clear that “MRAS was designed to only accept and respond with XML…”
We certainly can discuss this one further tomorrow. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

We are experiencing an issue with MRAS outputs that was noticed by Severin and passed on to SRE and Steven Chen on Names Team
Steven wanted me to reach out to Home Team to see why Calling MRAS Profile API always send xml format in the response. Our application is parsing a json format.
Has anything changed on your side recently. Steven, did this work a few weeks ago, can you confirm with Severin what date he noticed the error and update ticket, thanks.
