BA - AR Filing Information #23184

QUESTIONS: 1. What company types are required to file AR's in BC? List drafted, sent to the hometeam BA's for review The BAR filing is offered to corporations based on the following criteria (ignore the data extract column):

Those who receive this email can either file in the BC Registry application and the data is sent back to COLIN, or they file directly in COLIN if they prefer. This is a very small segment of the total annual report reminders that are emailed daily. The scope may be increased at a later date.

2. Are AR's for each company type currently different filings? To connect with Entities modernization team Entities support two different types of Annual Report filings: for corps (BC, BEN, CC, ULC, C, CBEN, CCC, CUL), and for coops (CP). Here’s the schema for the Annual Report filing: https://github.com/bcgov/business-schemas/blob/main/src/registry_schemas/schemas/annual_report.json

3. Is the new BAR AR applicable to all corporation types? Question sent to Maribeth The BAR filing is targeted at specific corporations based on criteria, but not all corporation types are using it yet. For instance, companies filing through the BC Registry application use the new BAR AR, but companies accessing their Annual Report through the entity dashboard still use the old AR filing (in COLIN). We may expand the scope later, but for now, not all corporation types have access to the new AR.

4. When is the new BAR AR going to be moved into the dashboard rather than used as a deep link? Question sent to Maribeth BAR AR is accessible by a link in an email and provides an easier option for those wishing to file their AR without having to navigate to the filing. The entities dashboard AR will also remain in place. As per discussion with Maribeth and Trish today we require updates in both AR versions as there is no intention to remove either one / combine them in the near future.

5. What does the BAR AR look like (screenshots or information on how to trigger in test)? Question sent to Maribeth The BAR filing is currently in limited use and is offered to selected corporations via email through a deep link. We don’t yet have test deep links available, but should be able to get one by next week. This will allow us to view the new AR filing for testing purposes. LINK: https://test.annualreport.business.bcregistry.gov.bc.ca/en-CA?nanoid=11v8zTCzDs9o7YjiNYWkh

6. Where should the exemption question appear in the AR? Is there any set spot this should fit? It would be helpful to see how the new AR flows to see if this is something that we can leave up to design, or if the type of information we are collecting must fit within a certain step Since the BAR filing is currently accessed through a deep link for selected users, the design and flow are still flexible. We don’t have a predefined spot for the exemption question, so it could be left to the design team to place it at the appropriate step. Once we review the new AR filing flow, we can determine the best spot for this information.

@apt766525 I've started this work by reaching out to the appropriate parties for 1, 3, 4 & 5 above. If you have time on Monday can you please check with Entities on 2?

@mstanton1 In regards with the question 2, Entities support two different types of Annual Report filings: for corps (BC, BEN, CC, ULC, C, CBEN, CCC, CUL), and for coops (CP).

Thank you @apt766525. Maribeth has also sent along answers to a number of questions. Let's work to add the answers above (body of ticket). I'm happy to work on this as well as I have time in the next few days.

@Apt766525 I've updated #4 in the description with the information from the meeting above. Please review the summary to confirm if there are any other updates needed.

@mstanton1 Thanks for updating that. I guess that was the main take away. Looks good. Thanks

One last request for test data was added into the linked UI Design ticket. Closing this, as information is now summarized in the ticket body.
