Changes: BC OnLine users are provided with sufficient notice to:

Key Messages for Name Request app: J. By March 31st, 2021, BC OnLine users will need to use the Business Registry to submit and look up name requests. K. Name Request Online (NRO) within BC OnLine will be disabled (or may contain a link to the new Business Registry and Names Request application). L. You are encouraged to use (the new) Name Request [link] before March 31st to get familiar with the functionality before NRO is disabled in BC OnLine. {This is pending the deployment of the functionality needed to support Premium accounts, which may be deployed on December 15th or shortly after.}

Other BC OnLine Key Messages - December 2020 – March 2021 A. Based on recommendations provided by Government, BC Registries will move away from holding funds for clients and phase out BC Online drawdown accounts as a payment method. B. Making this shift to a new payment method, in the modernized application, will make it easier to transition and ease into a new system and processes that are more secure, easier to use and manage (i.e., self-serve).
C. You will have a choice of account type with different payment options, including credit card, pre-authorized debit (PAD) and Online banking. D. The payment methods will be more convenient and easier to use since you won’t need to pre-fund the BC OnLine account. E. Setting up accounts, adding users to your account and managing account payment methods will be self-serve. F. You will need to use both BC OnLine and the Business Registry until all services have been updated and modernized. G. You can continue to use your BC OnLine drawdown account to pay in BC OnLine. H. How you authenticate/log in to access the modernized application will change. a. To further enhance security and to simplify the login process, identify will need to be verified using the BC Services Card/Mobile Card, government’s preferred secure option. This option means no more user ID and passwords and password resets. (Messaging will be confirmed with IDIM) b. Option to use a BCeID user ID and password and two-factor authentication is available for residents outside of BC who will be required to visit a notary to verify identity. I. For now, transaction summary reports that are run in the Business Registry will only contain transactions completed in that application. Within the next year, this functionality will be expanded to provide a consolidated view of all transactions completed from BC OnLine. BC OnLine will continue to provide the same reports as it does today.

This comms should be sent after the payment method release on Feb 7th.

Can we use the content from the BC OnLine announcement? We might be ready to send, if so! @trishreimer

trishreimer commented 3 years ago

@Sienna-Blumstengel yes, please reuse as much content as possible from the announcement. Also, now that online banking and PAD are available, we will need to update the email to indicate this. Perhaps take a look at the key messages in the comms plan to see if anything else needs to be included or reworded.

Thank you! BCOL_ACCOUNTS_NAMES.xlsx

the spreadsheet for the email is attached.
