Description

Can you please have someone take a look at NR 5677611, the name was approved with a designation in error but you can’t reset the NR because it has Refund Requested. Also, the NR has already been consumed with FM0847782.

Reviewed transaction history.

NR was created with request type of "Sole Proprietorship/General Partnership - Registration" and corporate designation INC. for choice 1 & 2, and LTD. for choice 3. Request details were updated, and payment was changed but the request type and requested names were not changed.

Tested in Name Request Test.

I was able to enter a Corporate designation. I had to select the box to specify that stated I had not used a corporate designation. However, when I reached the final screen and clicked to proceed to payment I received an error. I'm not sure if this is because clients are blocked as the error was generic.

@Sienna-Blumstengel before this goes to the person on ops can you confirm how this should work? Should clients be stopped on the first data entry screen or at the payment when they enter a corporate designation on a firm name?

Maybe @forgeuxGH5 and @Kaineatthelab can help fill me in on expected behavior here? I am a tad out of the loop

There isn't any check there, so the error @mstanton1 received was from something in the application nothing to do with the designation. The only safety check is the person has to say they are not going to use Inc.

This feature is working as intended.... but the request from Debbie is that the NR can't be reset .....

they both say refund requested [Uploading... image.png]

@janisrogers @PatrickAHeath could one of you check in prod and see what NR was used to register FM0847782.....

I think that is the only issue here, and why that was possible..

so @Sienna-Blumstengel that is the issue, is why and how did a NR that was not approved able to register ... If @JohnamLane has time maybe he can look on which side this problem is on...

It looks like the NR was approved. Only the 2nd and 3rd choice weren't examined. The comments state:

INC. was missed when examining this name originally. This NR was included on today's corporate designation report. Contacted client but could not reach, left message to call back. This NR will need to be replaced either for a SP without INC., or for a Corporate entity.

ah ok so they approved it then changed it to refund requested.... so seems like there isn't anything wrong herre?

I don't think the NR should be able to be an an approved state, but then have a user click "refund requested" on name request. Did i understand correctly @Kaineatthelab ?

I suspect the firm will have to be dissolved and reregistered with a new name. Not sure how the refund was requested. Can it be done by staff?

refund requested can only be done in Name Request but can be done by anyone with access... @janisrogers can you work through this one with Debbie Blyth and see what they want to do? The user included Inc. so that is technically their fault.... but she may want to just data fix the inc....

Debbie would like to reverse the refund, then they will contact the client to change the name (and provide a new name free of charge for the change)

We still need to figure out how a consumed name was refunded (or how a refunded name was consumed.

@janisrogers when you say reverse the refund you mean stop it from being processed? When a refund goes into refund_requested it is sent to CAS for processing. I can reach out and if they haven't processed it I can have them ignore the request. If it is already processed there is nothing that can be done. Please confirm that I should reach out to CAS.

it is syncing issues with NRO ..... we either look into it or focus on finishing NRA features.... so we can close NRO...thoughts

@mstanton1 Yes please reach out to CAS. If it can't be stopped Debbie should be made aware. It might affect her decision to offer the new name for free.

@janisrogers I have sent an email to confirm if the refund has been processed. Note NR 5677611 had both a priority fee and a regular fee. I have cc'd you.

@janisrogers Refunds for both payments above have already been processed. There is no way to reverse the refund.
