Label & Language Changes (Already dealt with across the new system)

The new Act describes certain items and aspects differently than in the current Act. These labels need to be updated to align with the way they are described & defined in the new Act.

Running List:

• Fuel labelling
  • e.g., petroleum-based gasoline --> fossil-derived gasoline
  • petroleum-based diesel --> fossil-derived diesel
• Gasoline class & diesel class --> gasoline category & diesel category
• Part 2 / Part 3 fuels/requirement --> Renewable Fuel Requirement & Low Carbon Fuel Requirement
  • Part 2 --> Tracked category & tracked fuel
• Credits / debits --> compliance units
  • Credits & debits are still a thing in the New Act in terms of the label/word itself. They are just defined differently.
• Credit formula: CI limit --> Target carbon intensity (TCI)
• Credit formula: CI fuel --> Recorded carbon intensity (RCI)
• Part 3 Agreements --> Initiative Agreements
• Exclusion Agreements/Reports --> Allocation Agreements/Reports
• Credit Transfers: director doesn't approve a transfer; they now record it
  • functionally the same thing
• Credit Transactions --> ?
• Credit Transactions: Validation, Reduction, Part 3 Award, Credit Transfer --> ?
• TFRS --> LCFS - Low Carbon Fuel Standard or BC's Low Carbon Fuel Standard or British Columbia's Low Carbon Fuel Standard
• Compliance Reports
  • The sections related to the provisions of the Act relied upon to determine carbon intensity change; 3/5 provisions remain the same with 2 being removed (Schedule D & Alternative method)

Part 2/3 is not Type A/B. These are two different concepts from the two different Acts (current & new) that are not directly related.
