Why was this code committed without the knowledge of or review by the 2 devs who have been supporting this project?

As you may know, Cam and I have until end-March to refactor this project to fix its major issues, over and above regular work hours, and we really need to know what's going on.

I don't have an issue with this commit, just the way it was slid it without my knowledge or review. I guess I will now port this change to the new Namerequest UI branch ("release-2.0").
