The readme hasn't been updated for a long time.

check that the badges are displaying the correct information
include links to the rest of docs on:
- Database design / diagrams
- Flow for CAP events
Review / Update description of the project / links to test instance
Review contents of the docs folder and add structure so that they are easier to find from the readme
