Build an application call Route Planner Sandbox that lets Route Planner API designers and users explore new UX concepts in route planning such as iteratively relaxing constraints in a contrained route and iteratively adding constraints to an unconstrained route.
Areas of study include:
Ways to use local knowledge of the road network to improve the route planner and/or create tailored, but sub-optimal routes
Effectively assisting permit clerks in search of efficient routes that involve manual intervention such as counterflow maneuvers (e.g., having flag people close a section of road to allow the vehicle to travel down the middle)
Ways of supporting designated truck route and oversize corridor design
