Not sure what we would do with this unless we were planning to route from Can to US (with US road network). As it is, a border crossing can only be a destination, so it doesn't affect the route if it is closed or not. I guess we could put stubs on the US side of the border so that you could see the route time "to the US side of the border crossing" - but the user would have to try various crossings themselves and see which was the fastest because without the US side of the network and their final destination we can't properly compare the alternatives.
It may not change the route but it could change a user's choice of start time.
Lift bridges are another type of infrastructure that closes.
Border crossings and lift bridges can close for certain periods of time, usually overnight. The time-dependent router should treat these closings in a similar way to road construction closures although the source of the hours of operation data doesn't have to be open511.
This feature is useful as an enhancement to support the TransLink Commercial Vehicle Route Planner after version 1.0
