From a request submitted to the OrgBook BC mailing list.
It would be nice to have an option to download a brief record of a search for verification purposes. I need to confirm legal status of an entity, and include that search record with our file.
Background Details
For our business processes I need to confirm a legal entity, and I collect and save a record of the search. I’ve been using BCOnline to do so, and I save the corporate report or the society report for a record, but it is a bit overkill for most situations. Sometimes it helps to have the list of directors, to confirm a signatory, but not in all cases. Also, recent updates have limited my access in BCOnline to search entities like sole proprietorships.
Orgbook BC does a great job at giving me access to search all the legal entities our program may interact with, and the general information on the screen confirms the basic info required by us. For now, I will take a screen shot of the search result, and save that as my record. My request below was to produce a brief downloadable record of the information on the screen, preferably something with an official BC Gov look and feel. If it works to do so, then great, otherwise I will continue taking screen shots. So far, I’m impressed with Orgbook BC and have shared it with my colleagues.
When performing a legal entity search, this is generally the info I am looking to find/confirm:
The legally registered name
Type of entity (i.e. society, corporation, sole proprietor, etc…)
