This ticket is to refine, research, and plan for implementing a hold ~or waiting room style~ function within DUP.
As a park visitor, I want to have confidence that if there are passes available when I start booking a DUP that I will be able to successfully book one. One of the biggest pieces of feedback we get on DUP is that people try to book a pass and before they enter all their info and submit all the passes are sold out. Being able to hold your pass while you book for a specific amount of time would be ideal.
With the use of lambda@edge we can explore doing this.
This ticket is not to complete this work, but plan for it.
15mins would be a good amount of time for hold
Acceptance Criteria:
[x] Plan and host a workshop to determine the following:
[x] Decision on hold patterns
[x] confirm start of hold and length of hold
[x] confirm in what situations does the hold stop (eg: navigating away from the page)
[x] confirm if any UI or design changes are needed to show holding to the user (eg: a timer)
After workshop:
[x] implementation tickets are created and added to backlog
Notes:
if we can do this for DUP, we can do this for front country, etc
Idea: make a mini project to test it out (proof of concept) - then by doing that we can sort out what it can and can't do.
