To those who submitted a proposal ... many thanks. We were happy to receive a number of high quality proposals. Based on the evaluation criteria, https://github.com/jtcchan scored the highest. Therefore we are assigning him the work on this issue.

Proposed approach:

Evolve the docs folder for the jekyll site: https://github.com/bcgov/von
Use the palette from the presentations in this folder - fonts, colours, images: https://drive.google.com/drive/u/1/folders/1rqJ-cOIrnuSCt2hR_eeyiWTxLMw8plWu
For the first cut, support the existing content (unless it's too much work - see next activity)
Once we have the look and feel more or less done, rethink the site TOC and in particular, the site sections. From there - update as needed the coding of the sections
Provide some docs on how to add content to the existing sections - what needs to change
- And some brief content on how to change/add sections

Ultimately, the site will be accessed through https://vonx.io, so if the root URL is important - remember that is the URL through which the site will eventually be accessed.

Noted—thanks! Just dropping some notes here for reference:

The task will be to either evolve our current theme or propose a new theme as a starting point, integrate in our palette of colours, fonts and images, and create a style and layouts for:

a home page

a general content page, eg (about, community, etc)

an FAQ page

a documentation pages that can guide user to ReadTheDocs type sites, and

a set of blog posts.

For design references, the suggested sites were Kubeless and gPRC

As per our conversation—I'll be starting from the homepage and use that as the visual reference for the remaining parts of the site. Will set up a new issue. You should probably hear from me again on Tuesday.

@jtcchan we are awaiting visual assets .. should have those later today or so.

Hey @jljordan42, no worries—worse case, I'll probably just take a screenshot from the PowerPoint just to mock things up while we wait for the SVGs. Thanks!
