I really like the api and the design goals, but I'm concerned that it hasn't been updated in a year. Would it be a good idea to use it on a large user-facing project?

Hey there! Undux is stable, and there has not been a need to update it. It’s actively being used by a bunch of teams at Facebook (though, note that folks at Facebook have authored several state management libraries, and none of them are officially endorsed by the company).
