To be more precise, the saved passwords and keys could be encrypted with a
master password.

Yes. I used to use puttycm but it is too buggy and does not work correctly on
newer systems. Which is how I came across super putty. The master password was
one of the features that it had that made if difficult to switch over to supper
putty. They had the option to save all the data (host, users, passwords, keys,
etc.) in an encrypted database which had a password to access it.
