Descriptive attachment icons are just plain colored squares #317

What is the problem? Describe completely:

The descriptive attachment icons appear only as colored squares (the color of
the squares matches the main appropriate color of the descriptive icons - for
example blue for word docs and dark grey for images).

When I right-click on the icons and "open image in new tab" I get a 1x1 pixel
"cleardot.gif" (https://mail.google.com/mail/ca/u/0/images/cleardot.gif).

The icons work properly on my windows machine at work, just not my macbook.

Other extensions - none
(I do use http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/133536 to free up extra screen
real estate but the issue persists with that disabled and chrome restarted)

Please provide any additional information below and attach screenshots if
relevant.

This is a base64 compatibility issue and is likely a bug in a particular
browser version. Is this still the case? (you should be at least on Chrome
version 28 at the moment)

It is still the case. I am on Chrome Version 28.0.1500.71 and Chrome says
it is up to date.
