The plugin should better deal with misconfiguration conditions. For example, if it is installed with leaving all configuration options in their default values, adding a new instance leads to a page like with no clue for the teacher what goes wrong.

We've added a redirect back to the course home page with an alert that the plugin configuration is incomplete (including a link to it).
