Unfortunately DT.net will break any javascript template editing ability natively available within KO...

Yeh, this was written before the datatables.net breaking change. I logged a bug with Allan at datatables. Here is the thread. http://datatables.net/forums/discussion/9715/1.9.1-and-knockout.js-viewmodel-binding-appears-broken#Item_12

We are still using the 2 together, we are just stuck on 1.9.0 version.
