Wait, how do they create a password and stuff? Do they just hit log in, use their email and they're good to go? What are the instructions I provide them?

I think what I did to create a login is to hit login then hit forgot password and that's how I established my account. Is it the same with them? Just making sure. Thanks!

knightlabs commented 9 years ago

Same with them. Just click forgot password and rock and roll.

Sounds good. Will instruct them accordingly.

Breakwater folks are unable to create a log in on stage. They get the following error:

The instructions I provided them is as follows:

Hey there - Were the breakwater peeps awarded badges? Even though @bug added them to the admin list, they don’t have accounts until they’re awarded badges. We don’t have create user functionality.

The instructions I provided them is as follows:

Go to our staging site which is like a test site: https://stage.mainestateoflearning.org/ Hit login on the top right Hit forgot password Input your breakwater email You will then get an email sent to your breakwater email with a link to create a new password. Follow those steps to create a new password. Login to the msol staging site with your breakwater email and password. You should then be able to see "Admin" menu on the main nav Click on that and you'll be able to see the admin panel — Reply to this email directly or view it on GitHub.

No they weren't. Ah gotcha so I will go ahead and award them badges and have them go through the process. Thanks @kayaelle!

threeqube commented 9 years ago

I've issued a badge to all 3 and Derek has replied to inform me that he still get the "user cannot be found" error. Why do you think this is?

threeqube commented 9 years ago

So it looks like Kathy was able to get in. Will work with Derek to make sure he's following all the right steps.

knightlabs commented 9 years ago

Just confirming that the email list is correct:

secure_msol__openbadger_admins: '["sunny@badgelabs.io","erin@badgelabs.io","meg@badgelabs.io","bug@badgelabs.io","carla@badgelabs.io","kerrilemoie@gmail.com","mjones0164@yahoo.com","chris.mcavoy@gmail.com","ksteinhagen@breakwaterschool.org","kdamon@breakwaterschool.org","dviger@breakwaterschool.org"]'
threeqube commented 9 years ago

Yes that is correct. Sorting through this with the Breakwater folks. Kathy and Kelly were able to log in but Derek wasn't. Feel like it might be working so walking through it with Derek.

threeqube commented 9 years ago

This is done! Can we push to prod? Thanks @knightlabs

knightlabs commented 9 years ago

Merged and pushed to prod – same process as before, but on www.

threeqube commented 9 years ago

kk. Will issue badges to everyone and get them going. Thanks!
