I have a couple of blogs on bdsmlr and the site has been very buggy and major features are not working properly.
It seems loads of other people have already complained too to no avail. The team is nowhere to be found, the communcation lines unprofessional and unresponsive.
It's a shame that there does not seem to a be an actual regular team supporting the site because it's a good content hub for the stuff that finds nowhere else to be. If the BDSMLR team continues to neglect this project, their user base will switch to Twitter or any other content hosting site.
As a developer, I understand that you probably cannot maintain this like major tech companies do since most likely, 90% of the developer team is doing this either as a side hustle or on their own volution with no payment whatsoever but from a professional, user and just from a software developers perspective, I urge the team behind BDSMLR to be more clear in their decisions and more transparent.
If the site cannot be maintained any further due to scheduling or any other problems of team members, then tell us. No one will be surprised if a non-paying side project struggles to get dedicated people to maintain it. You can discuss out in the open how to find a solution.
Maybe open the project source code on github and arrange a new maintainer team and straighten the communication lines so other people can contribute.
If there is a financial issue due to hosting space costs or otherwise, please tell us openly and don't hide behind technical issues.
Either way, the current silence and infrequent, vague updates with no resolution or results and a deterioratin user experience is no way to serve the user base (or managing a project in general, really).
If anyone of the BDSMLR team sees this:
