Hi!

I am wondering if there is an equivalent to the R merge_vim function in vimpy?

Not yet -- vimpy is unfortunately a bit behind vimp at the moment. I'll try to get to this sooner rather than later, but in the meantime if you want to take a shot at this function and create a PR that would be great!
