Bad kerning for 'it', 'iz', 'zi', and many other pairs in Etoile #624

I am using Iosevka Etoile Web v3.2.2 in Chrome 83.0.4103.116 on macOS Catalina.

This is how the word "initializing" looks in Iosevka:

To my eye, it should be quite a bit tighter, and iz/zi should be a hair tighter.

Here is a complete paragraph, with many un-kerned pairs:

Am I doing something wrong, or does Etoile intentionally omit kerning?

All the quasi-proportionals are designed as a derivative of monospace -- so the kerning is intentionally omitted. It's like iA Writer's "proportional" fonts which don't have kerning too. Though the shape choice, balancing, and even adding kerning back could be a research area.

Gotcha.

Got this as well. For me it was the "Fo" pair.

Here's a screenshot, it is pretty bad and noticeable, so I hope this can be fixed.
