and ti has a special build of this firmware too, which makes things fun:
We are grabbing them from TI' SDK to stay in sync.. But mainline linux-firmware is different..
Eventually mainline "linux-firmware" must work..
Regards,
@FionaYu20180326 lets stick with miniDP, but we need to find a list of what monitors work and which don't.
Ordered a miniDP to VGA cable ( less than $10 US ) to see if that works.
https://www.amazon.com/BENFEI-DisplayPort-Display-Gold-Plated-Compatible/dp/B0823Q2W6N?ref_=ast_sto_dp&th=1 Finally arrived at 9:00PM last night.. I have a VGA monitor running. It has a few bugs, but it does work
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BBFR1FJ/ also works as reported on Slack by Nishanth Menon
In reviewing https://www.amazon.com/dp/B089GF8M87 or https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BBFR1FJ/ mentioned previously.: The first monitor I tested supports all 9 given selections from 800 x 600 to 1920 x 1080. The second monitor had only 8 selections in the same range, tested each, works fine. An "Active" converter to an HDMI monitor, or a DP compatible monitor should be the recommended configuration.
@jim255 what is ""Active" converter to an HDMI monitor" , any examples?
HDMI and Display Port are high speed digital protocols, the driver can ask the monitor "What resolutions can you support?". Active adapters support this, passive adapters do not. The two devices listed in my previous post have been successfully tested on multiple devices. I honestly wish I had the budget to test every adapter I found on Amazon.
