Add support to encrypted mesh networking with wl18xx #229

Open JoseGoncalves opened 4 years ago

With the current kernel shipped in the latest BeagleBone image, encrypted mesh networking is not possible with wl18xx devices. To add this support two patches from TI are required. See the following post in TI's Wi-Fi Forum for details:

WL1835MOD: 802.11s MESH + SAE with BeagleBone Green Wireless

The two patches supplied by TI do not apply cleanly on top of 4.19 sources, but need only some small adjustments. I attach a slightly modified patch that I've applied with success over git tag 4.19.94-ti-r42:

@RobertCNelson @jadonk should we consider this for the next release?

@JoseGoncalves thanks, here is a new page with information about upcoming releases: https://elinux.org/Beagleboard:Latest-images-testing
