Unfortunately, this occurred on a student's laptop during the SISMID workshop. I am still running 9.0.4
and am having no problems. BTW, on the student's laptop, I tried downgrading (unsuccessfully) to java 9. java 10 just would not go away.
Found the issue (I think). It was a -d64 flag in the launch script for Mac Desktop Apps. This seems to have been removed as a command line option and was throwing a hidden error.
Closing this for now.
java -jar beast.jar
opens fine.BEAST v1.10.0
GUI app, however, does not launch.
