like the idea of "If you want to play it, write it." 2048 would require a fair amount of scaffolding for high school students and some real thought about what that framework given to them should look like.
I definitely agree this would be a fun thing to scaffold for students.
Sorry if this is the wrong place to put this, but a project in which students write the game "2048" could be really awesome. I view it as an advanced project on the subject of arrays/lists.
