Review Xplor deployment process #121

Description

As part of the Xplor review, in consultation with @faizmagic , it has been decided to start with the review of the installation of Xplor as experienced by Network Participants.

  1. Study the deployment/installation of Xplor services and identify the improvements needed in process and/or documentation.

  1. The repos listed in the "Backend Microservices Deployment Overview" section are all over three months old.
  2. We should have a document that helps new developers to deploy and run the software locally. This should explain the required support services (db,cache etc).
  3. We should have a document that helps deployment outside of CI/CD.
  4. It is not clear if all the 12 microservices in the list are required.
  5. Ideally, it would be great if there is a step by step guide to install and see the reference app running for non-developers and starting developers.
  6. The document, the way it is currently assumes user to be significantly knowledgeable w.r.t Xplor. Almost everyone outside of the Xplor development team will not have this knowledge.
