Background: Facilitating the connection between farmers and markets is a crucial aspect of advancing agricultural commerce digitally. While adopting DSEP specifications enables learning of the best agricultural practices and utilizing Local Retail specifications streamlines agricultural input procurement, there is currently no specification available to support the sale of agricultural produce. Unlike other existing use cases that involve buyer-initiated transactions, this particular scenario involves seller-initiated transactions.
Typically, an agricultural produce seller, whether a farmer or aggregator, advertises their products (such as paddy, wheat, maize, potato, tomato, etc.) in a marketplace or mandi. Buyers then respond with offers based on the variety and grade of the produce. The seller evaluates these offers considering factors like price, distance to the market, etc., before deciding to sell the produce to a specific buyer. Essentially, sellers list their products while buyers bid for them.
Let's explore the possibility of defining a specification that supports this unique use case
