Hello Becky, This is the closes I have seen to tv control. I have followed directions installing. How do I get good to watch ID? What phrase or do I need to create and IFTTT function?

I'm short but i don't understand the question. This sets things to to work with the smart things app. Are you asking how to connect the smart things app to alexa? This site not involve ifttt.

I have my smartthings set up per the instructions, now how do I ell Google Home to watch ID?

I don't own a Google home device, and I'm not sure what you mean by "watch ID." This code controls things using on and off commands only, passing them through smart things to whatever other devices and services can control smart things switches. You can control more than just switches by linking almost any command to "on" but Alexa and Google home will control it like a switch. For example I programmed in a tv channel but i have to tell Alexa to "turn on ABC" for example. If designed well it can still use very natural language, but you can't give it open ended instructions. To link this to google home, you would need to use whatever process the Google home uses to discover and control your smart things devices. I assume there is some sort of interface where you can enter your smart things account info to link them, just like you can with Alexa.  Again, as I don't own one I can only suggest searching the web for that procedure. Others here have made it work so may also be able to help if they see this, but i think they would likely need a more complete description of what you are trying to do, what you have already tried and what error you are getting if any.
