Creating this issue to be a reminder to explore commands which may not accept the same flags as other commands for that package manager.
From the discussion where xbps-pkgbd command didn't accept the -y/--yes flag and a proposed solution was having the variable filter out the flag itself, ie ${flags//-y/}. The flags variable was simply removed from these commands until further research was conducted.
