[Maintainers] Why PR'S are not being merged ? #202

Open Igor-Lopes opened 4 years ago

Hi,

I've seen a lot of open PR's ready to be merged and released, but they're all idle, with no response. Many of them have very important fixes and features. I feel like the current project owners are too busy (I don't blame them).

Perhaps would be a good idea to make a call for new Maintainers ?

Hi @Igor-Lopes! Thanks for raising this question! The biggest item in my mind is that we no longer use bull queue at Mixmax, hence why this project is under the bee-queue project organization. It would help us speed up a lot in PR review if someone could contribute a good test harness for bull queue? Thoughts?

Thanks for you reply @ttacon !

I think you could make a call for new Maintainers, by opening an issue and pinning it. Also, you could ask for suggestions for a new roadmap.

Since this project doesn't have any tests, I think the selected maintainers would review manually all PR's, while the tests specs could be added to the roadmap.

I volunteer to be part of it. I work for a company that uses bull and bull-arena for monitoring its queues in their Node.js service. The project grew a lot and bull is an essential part of it today.

They're willing to provide part of my time to improve this project. So, I do have interest in helping reviewing this repo, if you and all project owners agree. But I think, it's also valid to make a call to other devs, maybe we can also get more people involved and speed up things, while having everyone helping to define a new roadmap.

What do you think ?

Sorry for my rusty english.
