Couldnt you just do a button for when it's a trailer.avi in the sam directory.
You'll still have to download the trailer manually but there's tools for that
saw something in the forums of myTV

this would be great. i think it should be something sven already mentioned, an
extra
button in 'trailer' which identifies the trailer (the *.mov file in the folder
or
even better the file in the trailer folder you have to put in the movie
folder). now
i'm using this app (http://forum.team-mediaportal.com/plugins-47/apple-trailers-
downloader-v0-065-bugfix-release-43453/) to download trailers. the problem is
that i
can't put them in the movie folder because it's working as a playlist then.
therefore my vote goes for a 'trailer' button. this would be ther perfect
solution
of a media browser! thanks in advance.........oh yeah......love the app very
much
btw!

I'm doing same comment. I Love this app !
And a Trailer button would be really nice.
So my vote goes to this feature, and a delete button too.

Oh yes, it would be realy great to have a button trailer which would start the
video
files located in a Trailer sub folder.

Would be nice if we have something that stream direct from apple.com with a
special
interface that is not necessary linked with your actual movie library - lots of
trailers available today are movies that nobody have it. I don't see any
benefit in
linking local files only. Must be streaming (or something like an offline
download
with automatic metadata prefetch)
Right now I am using Boxee integrated with my VMC only for use their Trailers
page.

the local trailers is useful for deciding on wich movie to watch.

Personally i think the trailers option is a great idea. I would implement the
following ideas:
- ability to browse trailers stored on local (or unc share) computer.
- trailers could be moviename-trailer.mov (batman-trailer.mov) such that any
files
with trailer in the file name would not be added to playlist, but instead be
watchable by a button next to play button when viewing movie info.
- option in settings to play x number of trailers randomly from your library
before
a movie starts (for a real at home theater experiance). this allows you to
remember
old movies you may have forggoten about or to introduce friends and family to
the
other movies in your library. Don't forget that while watching trailer, have a
hot
key on remote ability to play that movie instead of currently selected movie.
How
many times have you seena trailer to say .. gee maybe i should watch that
movie
instead.
- have the option to search for online trailers and play them
- have the options to automatically search for, list and choose trailers based
on
library of movies to download the trailers to your local computer so you don't
have
to stream them everytime
- perhaps have a seperate trailers folder instead of putting the trailers in
the
individual folder for each movie .. keep them in a seperate location to better
manage them. this offer the ability to have trailers for movies you don't have
in
yoru library alreayd (new releases for eg)
- and abiltiy to do teh same transcoding of trailer to xbox360 etc.

I totally agree J.Cronk. I currently keep my trailers in a seperate folder for
easy
managing as you've mentioned. This allows me to have trailers for movies i do
not
have yet. This way, for naming I don't need to add '-trailer' to the name. I
can name
the trailer just as the actual movie title.

I think this is a great idea. I would love the ability to watch a trailer from
apple/youtube/imdb/etc. Or optionally, it would be nice not to have to update
the XML
file to find a trailer in the same directory. If "trailer.*" (mov/avi/mp4)
existed in
the movie/tv shows directory, Media Browser would automatically add an icon to
play
trailer. GREAT WORK!!
