Battery Power Not Functioning on Allium58 Split Keyboard with Nice!Nano V2 #6
I've recently assembled the Allium58 split keyboard using the Nice!Nano V2 controller and ZMK firmware. While the keyboard functions perfectly when the left half is connected to my MacBook Pro via a USB-C cable, I encounter issues when trying to power the board solely with a battery. The keyboard does not seem to power on wirelessly using the battery.
Setup Details:
Mode: Wireless
Controller: Nice!Nano V2
Battery: 301230 110mAh
Firmware: ZMK
Steps Taken:
Left Half: Works when connected via a USB-C data cable.
Right Half: Works when connected via a USB-C data cable.
Bluetooth Connectivity: Right half can connect via Bluetooth when the left half is connected via USB-C.
Battery Connection: Confirmed battery polarity before attachment.
Observations:
Using a multimeter, I detected no voltage on the RAW and GND pins on the Allium58 PCB when the battery is connected to the JST connector.
Similarly, I observed no voltage on the ON/OFF circuit.
From the PCB design, it appears that the ON/OFF circuit is directly connected to the JST connector. Can you confirm if this is correct?
Possible Issue:
I suspect that there might be an issue with my soldering of the ON/OFF circuit, which could be preventing the board from powering on via battery. However, I'm not entirely sure if this is the root cause or if there's something else I might have missed.
Request for Assistance:
I would greatly appreciate any guidance or suggestions from the community or the creator on how to troubleshoot this issue further. Has anyone else experienced similar problems, or could this be indicative of a potential fault in my assembly? Any insights that could point me in the right direction would be very helpful.
I have traced the problem using a multimeter. It turned out there were several cold solder joints. After resoldering the ON/OFF switch, the problem was solved.
