One trickiness here is that (at least a few months ago), it wasn't obvious at all how to get the same data as the /notifications page from the notifications API. I spent longer than I should have trying to reproduce what that page says using the API, and I wasn't able to get it to match, where I included "all" or "unread" or "participating".

Of course, this isn't a blocker--but support-wise, it is really preferred that our data matches something the user can review self-service, you know?
