Recording for posterity - this item on the release note for psutil 6.0.0:
2396_: processiter() no longer pre-emptively checks whether PIDs have been reused. If you want to check for PID reusage you are supposed to use Process.isrunning() against the yielded Process_ instances. That will also automatically remove reused PIDs from processiter() internal cache.
... gave me a moment of pause, but I think we're OK. process_iter()
is the one call we actually use psutil
for; but PID reuse isn't a use case we should be especially exposed to, as we're looking for PIDs of recently launched processes.
Updates the requirements on psutil to permit the latest version.
