Cleanup following toga.Canvas audit #54

Following beeware/toga#2029, some API changes are needed in the usage of Canvas.

This bumps the Toga requirements to the (as yet unreleased) 0.4.0, but relaxes the requirement to only be on toga-core. This allows installation on non-desktop platforms.
