I thought about that earlier and yeah, you're right. Thanks. I'll also change the download links in the v10 if the cache is updated to v15.
Great 🙂, Thank You!
I also wonder what should I do about v10 caches in the main branch. Should add an info to every Readme.md? Cache version: v10
I could propose you the following (Concept) :
Move all the v10 caches to the "v10" branch and leave the main branch only with v15 and future newer State Cache versions (In the future, you can create new branches based on State Cache version, example > v10 > v15 > vXY, and so on.);
Add a note on README.md about v10 and v15 caches (Add or edit every README.md could not be efficient, instead, leaving a note on the main page, or, on the branch itself, i think will be sufficient);
On PRs, the Contributor can add the State Cache version after the link for your page on Git and cache entries, like this:
[foo]github.com/foouser X entries (v15) sha512sum > sha512sum here
What do you think? Feel free to give your thought, (i will reopen this issue, to let users give your ideas.) :-)
Thanks for your input! I came up with another idea. Remove the download link files from this branch, leave only the folders and change all Readme.md to: Moved to branch v10.
Why? Because some caches were linked on YouTube etc.
Or perhaps I could also add info about cache version to each Readme using some shell script.
Oh, I totally forgot about the external reference to cache files, and yes, as you said, external links will break if you bulk move caches to another branch. :-(
In this case, your idea is the most optimal, thanks for hear the idea. 👍🏻
I'll remove download links and change every Readme.md in the main branch (except Apex Legends) to(day):
Moved to branch v10.
Ignore those 2 commits, were deleted, i was trying to markdown those 😂 , and again, pushed with binaries on folders. 😑
I'm still thinking about this. I think that deleting everything other than v15 from the main branch would be the best option. Maybe I'll leave only a few folders that were linked somewhere, so most would be removed.
Aesthetically speaking, it would be really cool, if you can really do it in a certain way, and not break external references, you can try, if you want, if that doesn't work, you revert to the original state. :-)
I think this issue can be considered completed and ready to be closed ☑.
What do you think about separating the v10 caches of the v15 ones in different branches? on my opinion, will be more easy to submit and separate those caches, beside that, downloading a v10 cache, to play with the DXVK 2.0+ will cause some game crashes for some people, as mentioned here. (i was playing RE4 yesterday with my old cache converted to v15, and the game crashed some times, creating a new one fixed the issue.) what do you think? will be ideal? thanks in advance. :-)
PS: I have some fresh v15 caches ready to upload, but i think i can hold these caches for some more time, playing other games, to catch more, and do a PR. :-)
