Has anyone submitted this extension to Amazon to be on the approved list of extensions? https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonRDS/latest/UserGuide/CHAP_PostgreSQL.html#PostgreSQL.Concepts.General.FeaturesExtensions

That's a good idea. Do you know what the process is or who to talk to?

Sorry, I don't know.

You can view a list of all PostgreSQL extensions supported on RDS on the AWS User Guide. Don't see an extension you'd like to use? Let us know through the AWS Forum, through your sales rep or TAM, or by emailing us at rds-postgres-extensions-request@amazon.com.

Thanks for the tip, just sent them an email.

Have they added the extension? If not, maybe you guys could send emails too to bump the priority a little.

Any updates on this? Will pg_rational not work on RDS today?

Based on this page, doesn't look like it: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonRDS/latest/UserGuide/CHAP_PostgreSQL.html#PostgreSQL.Concepts.General.FeatureSupport.Extensions

You could try asking them to add it by contacting rds-postgres-extensions-request@amazon.com

The more people ask, the more likely they will be to add it, I hope.
