Bad 'Clear Waveform' button behavior #68

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. On the waveform tab, press clear waveforms when previously detected 
waveforms are already displayed

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I expect the waveforms to be cleared immediately. Instead, the rendering engine 
waits for the next waveform detection to clear the screen and display that 
newly acquired data.
